History
When Batman was believed to have been dead, Talia al Ghul (daughter of Batman's enemy Ra's al Ghul) took samples of Batman's DNA that she had secretly collected and had her team of scientists combine it with her own genetic material. They spliced together the best aspects of both sets of DNA and helped Talia conceive a son. She named the child Damian Wayne and trained him from a very young age to be the next Batman. When he was old enough she gave him a costume and he became Raptor (as he was to be a bird of prey and not a mere robin). Talia sent Raptor to Gotham and he became the protege of his half-sister Huntress, who helped her newfound little brother become a true hero like their father was.
